Aston Barclay has boosted its senior management team as it looks forward to new product launches for 2018.

Ray Sommerville has joined the board as non-executive director and strategy advisor. He comes from a 16-year tenure as managing director and group chief executive of Perrys Group, and also holds non-executive positions at GardX and Now Vauxhall. He was also non-executive director at Cox Automotive.

John Crichton, meanwhile, has joined as commercial director and chief financial officer (CFO). Previous positions include CFO at Marston Holdings and finance director of APCOA Parking UK.

Gary Johnson has also joined from Manheim as dealer national sales manager, and Nick Thompson has left Copart to become head of corporate and manufacturer new business.

On the internal side, Alex Owen has been promoted to group financial director, to replace Rob Hoy. Before joining Aston Barclay six months ago, she spent nine years at Cox Automotive.

Finally, Rob Wittridge has become head of dealer new business.
