Auction house Hudson Kapel has rebranded to CD Salvage, following the merger with CD Auction Group.

The rebranded company will continue the remarketing of ex-rental and leasing vehicles. The cars handled by Hudson Kapel are typically total loss salvage, accident damage-repairable, mechanical failure beyond economical repair and MOT failures.

CD Salvage said it will continue to operate a sealed bid format, where registered buyers submit bids online by 1pm every Wednesday. It added the approach will be unlikely to change in the near future.

CD Auction Group was acquired last September by Arctos Holdings, which also owns SMH Fleet Solutions, a provider of support services for manufacturers, dealers and rental and leasing companies.

Andy Brown, managing director of CD Auction Group, said: “Merging Hudson Kapel Auctions into the CD Auction operation presents some fantastic opportunities for us to offer wider remarketing solutions to our joint customer bases.

“There are considerable synergies as well as opportunities to build on best practice from both operations that can benefit customers of both businesses.”
