Battery supplier Banner has launched an online battery identification and fitment portal designed to simplify aftermarket replacement and reduce incorrect installations, according to a press release.
The tool allows users to enter a vehicle registration number via a number plate-style search bar, returning a battery match complete with part number, technical specifications, and suggested selling price.

Developed for technicians, factors and workshops, the system also includes detailed installation guidance. Features include battery location information — especially useful for vehicles where the battery is not in the engine bay — and step-by-step replacement instructions to ensure correct fitment.
While high-voltage lithium-ion systems dominate discussion in the EV sector, conventional 12v lead-acid starter batteries continue to play a vital role in vehicle operation. Most EVs are still equipped with a secondary 12v battery system, which powers low-voltage functions such as lighting, infotainment, driver assistance features, and electronic control units.
