Northampton-based car finance company Billing Finance is to become an early adopter of a self-appraisal app created by G3 Remarketing.

Users of the ‘Go Appraise’ app can submit a step-by-step walk-around video alongside HD images to establish the current state of the exterior and interior of any vehicle from any location, using their own smart phone and tablet devices. It also includes a checklist to log value factors such as spare keys, handbooks and service documents, giving importance to each aspect.

Once submitted the app then creates and sends an appraisal report direct to the lender, offering the basis of discussions with the finance house and significantly supporting any vehicle handback including PCP or voluntary termination.

Shannon Faulkner, head of collections at Billing Finance, said: “This technology will give Billing visibility on the current state of the vehicles and ensure that there is transparency for any customer obligations regarding the vehicle condition at the point of contract termination. It allows for a conversation with the customer on the condition of the vehicle which aligns with the ‘treating customers fairly’ principle.”

G3 sales and marketing director Roger Evans said: “Our business has made significant steps forward with the value-added technologies we can now offer our vendors. We’re delighted that Billing Finance has built our product into their process and will look forward to working with them through 2019 and beyond.”

Billing Finance is a family owned, independent provider of hire purchase vehicle finance. Founded in 2009, G3 Remarketing are based in Leeds and hold up to 14 online and in-hall vehicle auction sales each month.

Last year First Response Finance agreed a long-term remarketing deal with Leeds-based G3 Remarketing, on an exclusive basis.

G3 took over the remarketing needs of First Response following a 12-month exploratory period on part of the lender, where different remarketing brands competed with each other for the longer-term partnership.
