The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has welcomed a report urging the government to work with car clubs to integrate them into public sector transport systems.
The report was written by Debbie Wosskow, chief executive of sharing economy start up, Love Home Swap, for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Car clubs usually involve members paying to use cars for short period as and when needed and have been seen as potentially disruptive or as a source of innovation to the leasing and rental industries for a number of years.
One example Wosskow gave for this was integrating car clubs into the Oyster ticketing system.
The report also suggests the government should update its procurement frameworks so that sharing economy platforms are an option when travelling.
Wosskow added that the Greater London Authority should be given powers to coordinate car club parking bays across London to ensure there is a consistent approach that allows one way trips.
