Online used car sales platform Cazoo has hired a former Moneysupermarket executive as chief customer officer.
Darren Bentley had the same role at Moneysupermarket, responsible for brand, digital marketing, CRM, customer insight, PR and customer service. In total Bentley has over 15 years’ experience in key customer and marketing roles.
In his role at Cazoo, Bentley will report directly to founder and chief executive officer Alex Chesterman. Bentley joins the Cazoo team of over 50 people who have joined since the start of the year.
Bentley said: “I am really excited to be joining Cazoo at this early stage in its journey. The opportunity is huge and I look forward to helping to transform the way people buy used cars in the UK. Our customers will be at the heart of everything we do and the Cazoo proposition will deliver market-leading selection, value, convenience and customer support.”
Founded in 2018, Cazoo’s stated aim to make car buying no different to buying any other product online, where consumers can purchase a used car online and have it delivered to their door in 48 hours.
Chesterman said: “I am delighted to welcome Darren to Cazoo. He brings highly relevant experience and insights to the team that will be invaluable as we build and grow the business. Our focus is entirely on giving consumers a far better used car buying experience than is available today and Darren will help us deliver on that promise.”
Last month Cazoo partnered with BCA for its vehicle logistics, refurbishment and disposal requirements.
As part of the agreement, BCA will store and refurbish cars purchased by Cazoo at various BCA locations around the UK. Cazoo will also benefit from BCA’s part exchange disposal services via the firm’s Consumer Appraisal and DealerPro products.
