Carlos Tavares has left Renault by mutual consent. The brand added a reorganisation of its management will be announced soon.

His role as chief operating officer, held since July 2011, will be filled temporarily by Carlos Ghosn, chairman and chief executive at the French manufacturer.

Tavares’ departure follows that of Thierry Sybord, who left his position as managing director of Renault UK in February this year.

In June this year, Tavares said Renault would reduce pricing-based deals such as 0% interest and cashback offers as they "did nothing for the value of the brand".
