Japanese brand Nissan, one half of the Renault-Nissan alliance, has appointed Jon Pollock as corporate sales director and Guillaume Masurel as marketing director.

Former marketing director Steve McLennan has moved to Nissan Europe.

Pollock will be responsible for Nissan’s 30-member team and its work to increase the brand’s UK fleet profile and market share. He joins from his position as general manager for sales operations at Toyota, having previously been general manager, vehicle marketing, for both Toyota and Lexus. Before that, Pollock was general manager for fleet sales, then network development, then marketing communication at Toyota. The appointment marks his return to Nissan, where he was product marketing manager from 1992 to 2002.

Masurel moves to Nissan in the UK from the company’s Japanese offices where he was global chief marketing manager for C and D platforms and GTR. Previously, Masurel held the positions of chief marketing manager for Nissan International and general manager, strategy and business planning, at Nissan Europe. Masurel’s experience also includes positions at BMW France and Peugeot Germany.

By the end of October Nissan had sold 49,354 vehicles in the UK corporate market in 2012, including 43,918 cars, giving the brand a 5.0% market share, and 5,043 light commercials, a market share of 3.8%.
