Marshall Motor Group has announced two senior appointments to bolster its leadership team. Matt Southall has been appointed Strategy and Technology Director, and David Johnson RICS has joined as Property Director.

Matt Southall will lead the Group’s digital transformation, enhance commercial focus, and support all business areas. He has held senior roles at Argos, overseeing commercial performance and the transformation of its B2B division before its acquisition by Sainsbury’s. In early 2020, he joined Pendragon, where he was tasked with refreshing its strategy and implementing various digital, operational, and commercial initiatives.

David Johnson brings over 35 years of automotive property experience, including 20 years in corporate real estate and 15 years in private practice consultancy. He spent 18 years at Listers Group, serving as Property Director on the Operational Board for the last 13 years. His responsibilities included site finding, acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews, lease renewals, restructuring advice, negotiations, strategic asset management, and general portfolio advice.

Johnson also spent ten years in the Automotive Team at property consultants Colliers International. Most recently, he has been in private practice with Rapleys LLP, advising dealer groups as part of their Automotive and Roadside Team.
