Mazda has begun encouraging its dealers to use the Manheim-owned remarketing website www.dealer-auctions.com for part-exchange disposals.

The move is the result of the Japanese brand officially offering national endorsement for the site.

Explaining the decision, Peter Allibon, Mazda Motors UK sales director, said: "We see the benefits of supporting our franchised dealer network to open up their part-exchanges to a wider network of trade buyers in a more effective and technologically-advanced way."

According to Manheim, part-ex vehicle prices increased year-on-year in July, although vehicle valuation firm CAP Automotive described prices as merely "stable" during the month, following an influx of part-ex vehicles in March.
