Vehicle information provider, MyCarCheck.com has launched a free vehicle factsheet product, offering information for used cars, vans and motorcycles.
Users will be able to access basic make and model information, as well as previously charged for data such as valuations, including retail, private sale, trade-in and auction values; MOT history; mileage and tax status.
Head of MyCarCheck.com, Roger Powell, said: “Our new Vehicle Factsheet makes more data available completely free of charge, either online or via the app. We’ll also email you a direct link to your report for ease of reference. It provides used car buyers with everything they need to narrow their search, with the recommendation they carry out a comprehensive check – including write-off, finance and stolen data – before actually buying.
“The mileage data can be crosschecked against the clock, while the valuations will confirm if the sticker price is in the right ball park. The MOT advisory notices are also very useful as they show what repair work will likely need doing soon – an expensive item might well be a deal-breaker, or provide grounds to push for a reduction. Feedback from our testing was hugely positive – all this data in one place, for free – we see it as a real landmark for the provenance check industry.”
The moves comes less than a month after HPI launched its own consumer product with a free tier. In the case of HPI’s product, consumers can access the price at new, a private sale valuation, a trade-in-value and a forecourt price.
