Rory Harvey has been appointed to the position of chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors and chief executive officer of Opel Ireland.

He has succeeded Tim Tozer, who left the company to pursue other career options.

Harvey has held several positions within the General Motors group, including most recently time as executive director of sales for Opel Europe, based in Germany. He has been with the company since 1989.

Peter Kuspert, vice president of sales and after sales for Opel Group, said: "We look forward to working with Rory on the implementation of our model offensive and on building an even stronger Vauxhall brand. At the same time, I would like to thank Tim for the great commitment he showed towards our brand. We are grateful for his hard work and wish him all the best for the future."
