Japanese manufacturer Nissan has claimed the Leaf model is the first 100% electric-drive car available on the Motability scheme.
The Leaf is available starting at £999 advance payment, with the Leaf Acenta model available from £1,299 and Tekna model available from £1,999, plus a free 16 Amp home charging point installation by British Gas.

Beyond the Motability scheme, the Leaf has been marketed on an "aggressive" PCP deal while British Gas supplies charging point installation in conjunction with multiple lenders and lessors.
Multiple alternatives
The Motability scheme provides finance arrangements for individuals qualifying for either the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Motability Support. As a Premier Partner to the Motability charity, Nissan has a minimum of two staff trained in Motability sales and aftersales at each of its 200 dealerships.
As well as the Leaf, alternatively-fuelled vehicles the Toyota Yaris and Honda Jazz are available through the scheme.

By GlobalDataWith Motability claiming 620,000 people qualifying, multiple manufacturers have announced offers for the scheme in 2013 including Volkswagen on the Polo and the Golf, MG with a zero customer deposit deal while Perodua claims the Myvi is the cheapest model available through the scheme.
Speaking to Motor Finance, a spokesperson for Motability confirmed all applications for such cars would be means-tested and run through a referral process before agreed.
