CAP Automotive

Andrew Fellows has been appointed head of CAP Consulting, the advisory service of CAP Automotive.

Fellows’ brief is to help CAP’s customers implement business goals and "unlock more value from product portfolios", according to a company statement. Previously, Fellows held several management and consultant roles with companies such as Audi, BMW, Gemini Consulting and KPMG.

Fellows said it was CAP’s commitment to grow its consulting business which made the role right for him. He will head up a six-strong team of consultants which can be augmented with personnel from across CAP’s operational areas.

Mercedes-Benz / Daimler

Mercedes-Benz UK has appointed Robert Muller as network operations director, effective from 1 September.

Muller joins from Mercedes-Benz Canada, where he was general manager for operational excellence. He replaces Ewan Ramsay who will "continue to develop his international career outside the UK", according to a company statement.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz UK said Muller "brings a wide range of previous automotive and retail experience, as well as network operations, meaning he’s ideally placed to build further on the momentum already gained through what has been a record year for Mercedes-Benz in the UK."

Andy Williamson is to be promoted from chief financial officer of Mercedes-Benz UK to Daimler’s international director of shared services and head of the Daimler Group Services, based in Madrid.

Williamson had held a series of international roles at Daimler, parent group to Mercedes, before joining Mercedes-Benz UK in 2006.

The promotion takes effect on 1 October and no successor to the chief financial officer role has been announced.

iVendi

Recent expansion at iVendi has prompted the motor industry technology firm to hire two developers.

Kevin Pluck, who moves to the company from the digital television sector, has been hired as senior developer to expand the company’s proprietary Quoteware software. Chris Matheson, previously a hardware development engineer, has been tasked with developing the upcoming iVendi platform as a software developer.

James Tew, director at iVendi, said: "The continued expansion of the user base for Quoteware, the success of our Car Finance Checker product and our future development plans all mean that our development team needs to expand, so we are pleased to welcome people of the calibre of Kevin and Chris on board."

VW Group

Volkswagen Group (UK) has appointed Paul Willcox as managing director, taking over from Simon Thomas who leaves the UK to take up a global marketing role.

Willcox joins from Nissan where he held the role of senior vice-president, sales and marketing, for Europe since June 2011. He has worked in the motor industry for a number of years, having started his career at Peugeot GB.

Willcox will be based at the Group UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Thomas will be promoted to global head of marketing for the VW Group, effective from 1 September. He first joined VW UK as managing director in 2011, following a number of years also at Nissan, including time as Nissan Europe’s senior vice-president. Thomas succeeds Jurgen Stackman, who became chairman of Seat on 1 May.

Renault

Renault Retail Group (RRG) has appointed Len Curran, previously managing director of RRG in the UK, as director for European operations.

Curran will take on responsibility for 85 Renault, Nissan and Dacia sites across 12 countries, excluding France, and their 3,700 staff managing 100,000 new car sales and 50,000 used car sales with a turnover of €2.7bn (£2.3bn).

Curran has been head of RRG in the UK since January, following 30 months as vice-president for sales and marketing for Renault in India. He has 22 years’ experience with Renault, starting as an area manager in Scotland.

Honda

Nick Holmes has been promoted to Honda UK’s head of customer and aftersales.

Holmes first joined Honda’s aftersales department 18 years ago and was promoted to regional operations manager for the Southern region in 2008 before rejoining Honda’s aftersales team as a manager in April 2012.

His promotion comes alongside that of Leon Brannan, formerly head of aftersales, who has moved to head of car, a role that was vacated when former head of car Phil Crossman became managing director in April.

Olivia Dunn has been promoted to head of marketing, following the success of "Honda Hands", while Ian Austerberry and Steve Fielden have been made managers in Honda’s Northern and Southern region operations respectively.
