Peugeot’s latest 208 model, the VTi 1.0 litre, will be made available on the company’s self-contained insurance and servicing package ‘Just Add Fuel’.
The model – on-the-road price £9,995 – is available from £208 a month for young drivers and £159 a month for "average age" drivers (defined by Peugeot as around 40 years old), over three years.
The scheme was launched to help young drivers purchase new cars, although it has been extended to over 21s with Peugeot citing new car buyers less than 40 years of age using the scheme accounted for 40% of sample custom, compared to an average of 22% over the previous decade.
The French brand has previously said such schemes have been responsible for the pick-up in new registrations in the UK in 2012, with the marque recording a 2.46% year-on-year jump in sales for December to 4,757 units and a 4.73% year-on-year rise for the 12-month period to 99,486, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
