Graham Wheeler, joint managing director of VWFS said: "The entire company is very proud of our volunteers. The target amount was £20,000, so to raise £23,000 is fantastic news. Each summer our employees perform one major charity event. Last year they raised over £10,000 with a 74-mile canoe trek down the river Wye in aid of Keech Cottage."
In 2011, staff from the captive finance provider, based in Milton Keynes, raised £19,000 walking 24 peaks of the Lake District in 24 hours in aid of armed forces charity Remount, and 34 members of staff took part in the London-to-Brighton cycle race in 2010 to raise £16,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
