Financial services company Skandia UK’s
multi-badge, user-chooser fleet of 200 cars will in future be
supplied by Alphabet.
Recent tax reforms prompted Skandia to change
acquisition method, from outright purchase to contract purchase,
following a review of its fleet strategy, Alphabet said.

“Skandia approached us, and a number of other
suppliers, because they wanted to take a fresh look at their fleet
processes in the light of tax changes – especially the reform of
corporation tax,” said Alphabet director, Mark Sinclair.
“We are delighted they chose us following their
review – with our financial effectiveness and commitment to service
being major factors in their decision to award the contract to
Alphabet.”
Sinclair added he expected more companies to follow
Skandia’s lead and realign their fleet strategies to prepare for
pending taxation changes.
