Commercial vehicle operators should try and
identify existing opportunities to purchase used vehicles,
according to vehicle valuation specialist Glass’s.
George Alexander, chief CV editor at Glass’s,
said that “despite the level of confidence remaining so frail,
there are still a few outbreaks of optimism where profit
opportunities have been identified”, as shown by key recent
trends.

According to Glass’s Guide, the used LCV
segment has been performing “strongly” at auction – particularly
Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Astra Club models, while demand for
Vauxhall Combo has recently improved.
In the used panel van sector, low volumes of
Citroen Dispatch, Fiat Scudo and Peugeot Expert vans have meant the
prices have continued to be strong, Glass’s said.
Other models, such as Vauxhall Movano, Renault
Master, Peugeot Boxer and Fiat Ducato panel vans, which previously
had been “especially sensitive to market numbers”, are currently
achieving better results.
