Icenet: Prestige broker deal win for IT
company

Icenet has won a deal with Oracle Finance (Oracle) to implement its
automotive software system. Oracle is a Harrogate-based broker
which specialises in the provision of funding for prestige cars, in
addition to marine and aircraft finance.

Peter Brook, director at Oracle explained that the company’s
previous system could no longer cope with the volume of
transactions and staff were constantly tied up with keying in
applications to funders’ systems. “As the business expands
further,” he said, “this would have left us open to inefficiencies,
missed opportunities and slow service levels, which is unacceptable
in this marketplace. Now we have a vastly improved customer service
level and, ultimately, an increased bottom line.”

New funder agreements

Icenet has also announced that the latest release of its software
will be able to interface with the systems of the finance houses
Blue Motor Finance, Park Motor Finance and The Funding
Corporation.
Icenet director Richard Carter said: “We are now at the point of a
virtuous circle with an increasing number of funders wanting links
to icenet based on the connectivity with our user community.
Similarly, the increasing number of interfaces attracts a growing
number of brokers expressing interest in our software.”

Correction

In the September issue of Motor Finance’s Technology survey we
incorrectly quoted icenet as having five current clients. We would
like to confirm that, of course, the company has some 50 clients on
a worldwide basis.
