The delivery of the vans is the first stage of a phased renewal
of Homeserve’s fleet, which includes 1,000 LCVs used by engineers
to make emergency repair visits and a 500-strong, all-diesel, Audi,
BMW and Volkswagen company car fleet.
Inchcape was recently awarded sole fleet supplier status by
Homeserve following a review of its fleet policy, in part thanks to
its proficiency in “web enabled services, high safety and improved
environmental impact”, said a Homeserve spokesman.
Inchcape is providing the vehicles on a contract hire basis,
over a benchmark fours years/80,000 miles basis. Pay-as-you go
maintenance, accident management and daily rental services, fuel
card management and a comprehensive occupational road risk
management tool are also part of the package, Inchcape said.
Terry
Bartlett, managing director of Inchcape Fleet Solutions said:
“One of the keys to Inchcape Fleet Solutions winning the contract
was its ability to provide a bespoke extranet service enabling
employees to specify and order vehicles online.
