New entities after Daimler-Chrysler
split

is no more after a recent Extraordinary Shareholder’s
Meeting in Düsseldorf. Rising from the ashes of the failed marriage
between Daimler and Chrysler are two new entities, Daimler
AG
and Chrysler
LLC
.

The changes will also affect the companies’ UK arms. As of
November 1 Mercedes-Benz Cars (Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, smart,
Maybach) and Commercial Vehicle (Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Fuso)
will be operated by Mercedes-Benz
UK Limited
, with the retail subsidiary to become Mercedes-Benz
Retail Group UK Limited
.

A new company, Chrysler
UK Limited
, will take over the responsibility for the Chrysler,
Jeep and Dodge brands.

Similarly, DaimlerChrysler
Financial Services UK
will become Mercedes-Benz
Financial Services UK Limited
, and will also continue to
operate as the exclusive financial services partner for the
Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands – although this will not take
effect until April 2008.

Reflecting their wider remit involving all brands of vehicles,
DaimlerChrysler
Fleet Management
will be renamed Daimler
Fleet Management UK Limited
and DaimlerChrysler Insurance
Services will become Daimler Insurance Services UK Limited. These
changes will also take effect in April 2008.

Wilfried

remains president and CEO of the renamed Mercedes-Benz
UK and Bob
Middleton
will stay on as managing director of Mercedes-Benz
Financial Services UK.

Current managing director of Chrysler Group activities within
DaimlerChrysler UK, Peter Lambert is to step down; he will be
succeeded by Simon Elliott.

No staff cuts or changes of location are envisaged as a result
of the creation of the new entities.

Steffen commented: “Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler LLC each have
strong teams and brands that are already well established in the
UK; and they will continue to work with and alongside each other to
strengthen further their respective businesses in this market.”
