The scheme, run in conjunction with the ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service and HPI Crushwatch, recorded 7,268 enquires in October which ended with a total of 769 successful vehicle recoveries (known as ‘hits’).

Although the total number of hits was up from 730 in September, the percentage of successful enquiries was down from 11.4% to 10.6%.

For the second month in a row, the Metropolitan Police Service recovered the highest total value of recoveries with the Greater Manchester Police Force in second place, thanks in large part to their recovery of a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a Rolls Royce Ghost worth a combined £264,200.

Vauxhall was the most recovered brand of the month, with the Astra being the most recovered model.
