Work is under way at Volkswagen Financial Services’ (VWFS) new four-storey headquarters in Milton Keynes, following a ground-breaking ceremony.

The event took place at the site on 31 July, and was attended by Graham Wheeler and Lisa Stacey, joint managing directors of VWFS, as well as local dignitaries. The new grounds are due to be completed in late 2014, and will provide approximately 100,000 sq ft of internal working space on the four floors, consisting of flexible work areas, a theatre-style conference centre, and a staff restaurant and coffee shop.

The new location will house all VWFS staff, currently deployed on two separate sites in Milton Keynes and the new office has been designed to include future staff increases.

VWFS experienced strong growth in 2012, generating a pre-tax operating profit of €696m (£599m) for the first six months of the year, an increase of 5% from the same period last year.

Wheeler said: "Our move to these new offices will allow us to remain close to our sister company, the Volkswagen Group in Yeomans Drive, and provide enough space for our future growth plans.

"It also secures the future of VWFS as a major contributor to the economy of Milton Keynes."
