(Nostrum) for the outsourcing of its UK and Ireland business
portfolios.
IA provides sales aid customer finance in the UK, Ireland, Italy
and Spain. This is managed through the UK operations centre in
Sunderland while the Australasian markets are managed from the
Australian operations centre in Sydney.

IA’s chief executive, Mike Cunningham explained that Nostrum was
selected because it had the technology and expertise, of equal or
greater standing than the company required, under one roof. “We
were looking to increase economies of scale,” he said, “and Nostrum
brought to the party a detailed understanding of how our business
operates and a cost-effective approach. This allows management to
focus on aggressively developing and growing the business in the UK
in line with our business plan.”
Richard Carter, Nostrum’s chief executive said that the company
will be providing the entire finance application process for IA
from initial application, applying IA’s underwriting criteria,
through to arrears management and in-bound customer service.
He added: “This service is attractive to businesses since it
represents a low-cost entry to market and a scalable solution to
new start-ups by buying in experience and best practice on a price
per transaction basis. Conversely, as in the IA relationship, it
provides strategic support to large organisations for part or whole
of non-core activities and outsourcing solutions.”
