ACF Car finance (ACF), the retail arm of subprime lender The Funding Corporation, has become an "Approved Dealership" of the RAC less than a year after the launch of its BuySure scheme.

ACF, which has a national network of showrooms, has become one of the first of 80 dealerships which will be awarded the status.

It comes after the RAC made an audit of the ACF network and found the dealer group already provided a number of services which matched its requirements for the scheme.

One of the areas which won praise from the RAC was ACF’s use of a 136-point vehicle inspection process which exceeded the minimum requirement for approval for the network.

The Approved Dealership status gives end users access to three months of RAC breakdown cover and a six month platinum level warranty, as well as the assurance that the vehicle has reached a "reassuring level" of safety and quality.
