Three quarters (75%) of UK car buyers or potential buyers said green credentials were an important factor when choosing vehicles in a survey conducted by finance provider Black Horse and YouGov.
According to the survey, conducted among 3,317 consumers last October, green credentials – such as fuel-efficiency and low CO2 emissions – was the second most important factor when choosing to buy a car.

It was found that Londoners were the least interested in having an eco-friendly car (69%). In addition women were more likely to consider environmentally friendly credentials than men.
Price was overwhelmingly cited as paramount in decision making, with 97% of respondents considering it before making a purchase.
Entertainment systems came in as the third most important consideration with six out of ten (60%) consumers considering them important when choosing their next car.
The research also found that men were more interested in tech features such as entertainment systems, in car connectivity and satellite navigation than women.
