The news follows figures from British Car Auctions (BCA) showing a £2,000 rise in the average auction price of 4x4s from the third to fourth quarters of 2012.
The average price reached £14,816 in December, the traditional annual high-point, with Motors.co.uk agreeing with BCA that recent cold weather appears to have prompted a surge in interest for 4x4s.
