Smart, the car brand owned by Mercedes-Benz, has launched an online shop where customers are able to buy either a fortwo or a forfour online.
Once a customer has created an account on Smart’s website, they can reserve a car online by placing a £250 holding deposit and completing a credit application. The car can then be collected from a local retailer or it can delivered direct to the customer’s home.

Assuming the customer’s credit application is approved, the customer will be guided through the remaining stages of the buying process online. The final contract will be emailed to the customer, after which the new car will be delivered either to the customers address or to a local dealer.
Krishan Bodhani, head of smart in the UK, said: “Almost anything can be bought online now and we’re delighted to offer this option to our customers when purchasing their smart. It’s really easy to do and is extremely time-efficient, enabling a customer to make a reservation, fill in a credit application and sign a contract at a time and place that works for them.”
