VWFS has been selling cars in conjunction with BCA for some
eight years now, and BCA said that over 30,000 vehicles have been
sold through the joint programme to date, raising over £255m.
The VWFS Centenary Sale was the largest such sale to date, and
was heavily promoted by BCA before the event. For the first time,
BCA’s Live Online system was used for the VWFS sale, allowing
potential buyers to bid via the web. Head of operations services at
VWFS, Colin Barlow credited Live Online with adding “several
thousand pounds to the bottom line”, calling the result
“outstanding”.
