The contract hire and leasing division of 1car1 Car and Van
Rental, 1car1 Contracts, has been relaunched, following higher
levels of customer interest in longer-term vehicle hire from
customers.
Leeds-based 1car1 Car and Van Rental, which operates a fleet of
18,000 vehicles from 95 UK locations, claims to have seen a
“rocketing demand” for lease products, prompting the recent
decision.

1car1 Contracts will provide fleet solutions to SMEs, plcs, and
private customers nationwide. At its launch two years ago the
division focused on providing contract hire for SMEs, but has
widened its product range and target customer base. “The economic
downturn has resulted in significant demand for other forms of
rental,” said general manager Karl Scott.
Demand for the rental company’s flexi-lease product, which
allows customers to hire a vehicle for 28 days or more without a
long-term commitment, rose by 65 percent in the second half of
2008.
“We have expanded our product offering and have put in place a
basket of vehicle funders that can offer the most appropriate
vehicle solution depending on individual customer requirements,”
Scott said.
