£24m Lloyds TSB autolease deal with
Corus extended

 

Lloyds
TSB autolease (LTSBa) has won a three-year extension of its
fleet deal with steelmaker Corus, with the deal worth an estimated
£24m up until the end of 2009.

LTSBa will provide Corus with a fleet of between 1,600-1,800
vehicles, with 600 new vehicles delivered every year on a contract
hire basis with full maintenance and accident management cover.

The lessor said that it was committed to cutting costs for its
corporate clients, with volume deals with manufacturers and
“competitive finance rates” identified as part of the package,
along with the implementation of IT software in fleet
administration, environmental issues and risk management. LTSBa
said it is looking to expand on the deal’s environmental side by
introducing further ‘green fleet’ measures in the near future.

Corus has also signed up to LTSBa’s Fleet Sense and Quick Quote
products. The former addresses work-related road safety, while the
latter allows drivers to take advantage of immediate online vehicle
quotes.

LTSBa has two customer service staff permanently placed at
Corus’ plant in Teesside to manage the contract. The mixed fleet of
around 1,800 cars is split between a user-chooser fleet for senior
managers, and a dual-badge deal for essential users, who have the
choice of either Toyota or Vauxhall models.

LTSBa corporate sales director, Claudia Rose said: “Winning
Corus’ business in 2003 was fantastic but we’re even more pleased
that the relationship has grown and strengthened, and delivered
real benefits to our client.

“We have been actively promoting innovative solutions in line
with Corus’ financial, HR and overall business objectives.”

Corus’ group compensation and benefits manager David Dales said:
“Originally, Corus chose Lloyds TSB autolease because of its
innovative approach and the promise that they would help us to
drive our costs down. We are a demanding client but they have
constantly met our key performance indicators.”
