The staff at BCA’s UK network of auction centres raised over
£15,000 for BEN, during the motor industry charity’s recent
National BEN Week campaign.

The week’s activities were based on a beach theme, which saw
some BCA centres temporarily transformed into pirate ships, while
at others there were ice cream vans, scuba divers, hula girls and
sandcastles.

“Cakes, scones and lollipops were sold, teddy bears were raffled
and customers donated cars and other luxury items to be auctioned
for the cause,” BCA said.

BCA’s director of auction services, Keith Rogers, was the
driving force behind the auction house’s participation in the
event. He said: “Everyone connected with this campaign in aid of
BEN is to be congratulated – the staff, customers and management
teams around our network.

“The ‘Hit the Beach with BEN’ campaign was owned and driven by
our people, meaning BEN had a raised profile within the BCA network
and our large customer base during the campaign.”

Speaking on behalf of BEN, Charles Davis commented: “We are
completely blown away by the generosity and support of BCA staff
and customers. To raise such a large sum of money in these trying
times is an incredible achievement and will assist BEN greatly in
helping those in our industry who are facing difficulty.
