Online car sales site Autoquake has
found that consumers are increasingly willing to buy cars online –
without first inspecting them in person.
Over 30 percent of its customers chose to
have their new vehicle delivered, rather than collecting it from
one of Autoquake’s retail sites, “suggesting buyers are becoming
happier to spend thousands of pounds over the internet,” it
said.

Carsite.co.uk, another online vehicle
retailer, has seen monthly sales nearly double in July 2009
compared with the same month last year, and recently launched an
“early bird” previewing service, which allows customers to view and
reserve cars owned by fleet and leasing companies before they are
defleeted.
