EurotaxGlass’s and Navteq will begin with a survey of seven
European countries this year, to be repeated and updated in 2009
and 2010. The survey will cover the UK, Belgium, France, Germany,
Italy, Netherlands and Spain.

A key area of interest for the automotive industry is the market
for factory-fitted navigation systems as more vehicles are fitted
with this technology.

Navigation systems have contributed some three to six per cent
to the overall new vehicle purchase price. It has already been
established that the positive impact of these systems on residual
values and total cost of ownership is often underestimated,
according to EurotaxGlass’s.
