Business services manager Lindsey Grant was in charge of the ISO
14001 accreditation process. She said: “Environmental management is
top of the corporate agenda for many businesses, which is why ALD
Automotive has been working towards this important landmark.”

ALD has planted 1,600 trees in partnership with the Woodland
Trust to offset the emissions of its fleet of company cars, with an
annual total mileage of 1.28m miles, and plans to continue the
scheme.

Having good environmental credentials is increasingly important
when it comes to gaining new business, ALD said. Chief executive
Keith
Allen
commented: “Fleet tender documents invariably ask about
‘green’ credentials and our new accreditation gives the official
seal to our standards. With our environmental programme subject to
continuous improvement and review through a twice a year external
audit we will be striving to further reduce our carbon footprint in
all areas.”
