Fleet lessor group LeasePlan boosted its international contract
portfolio by €557m (£441.3m) to achieve a book worth €14.4bn
(£11.4bn) in H1 2008, an increase of 4 per cent year-on-year.

The group has acquired 47,000 vehicles in the six months since
December 31 2007, giving it a total of 1,362,000 at present.

In the UK, the LeasePlan fleet has grown by 3.5 per cent in the
first half of 2008 and is expected to grow by a further 2 per
cent in the second half of the year.

LeasePlan now operates in 30 countries, having recently
opened a new operation in Mexico, and is in control of
DaimlerChrysler Fleet Management in France.
 
Almost all national entities in the LeasePlan group achieved growth
in 2008’s first half, either in profit or in contract volume.
 
LeasePlan is expected to continue making good net profits during
2008, and expects to exceed net profit results for 2007, according
to managing board chairman and CEO Vahid Daemi.
