Fleet management and leasing company
Lloyds TSB autolease (LTSBa) has landed three huge vehicle supply
contracts, with E.ON, Fujitsu and Newsquest.

The lessor won a £100m deal with energy company E.ON to provide
it with vehicles in the UK, Germany, Hungary and the Czech
Republic, a continuation of a previous four-year relationship
between LTSBa and E.ON.

As well as 6,000 vehicles in the UK, the deal covers, through
LTSBa’s pan-European joint venture Fleet Synergy International,
7,500 vehicles in Germany, 2,300 in Hungary and 2,000 in the Czech
Republic – 17,800 vehicles altogether, meaning E.ON is now Fleet
Synergy’s largest client.

LTSBa said its green focus and its pan-European capability, were
central to its being awarded the contract. In addition, the
development for E.ON of specialist equipment, including a modified
Land Rover Defender called the OSCAR4, which is able to carry a
payload of 1,000kg, was described as another “key factor” by the
lessor.

David Graham, fleet manager at E.ON, said: “We have a carbon
initiative to reduce our CO2 emissions which Lloyds TSB autolease
has proactively assisted us with. As we are a large utility
company, we have a wide range of specific requirements, from small
cars to large specialist vehicles and LTSBa can provide us with
this.

“LTSBa could also offer a pan-European solution which was
crucial to our needs.”

Corporate sales director at LTSBa, Claudia Rose noted that the
lessor had run best practice workshops for E.ON staff, and that its
product offering for the energy company included an employee car
ownership element along with contract hire of cars and LCVs.

£25m Fujitsu deal

IT provider Fujitsu Services has appointed LTSBa as sole
supplier for its company vehicles in the UK for the next three
years. Fujitsu has a 2,100-strong fleet in the UK.

Cost-saving through “innovative advice and fleet management
solutions” was a major reason for LTSBa’s being awarded the
contract, the lessor said.

Senior sourcing manager at Fujitsu, Martin Coulson said: “We
were looking for a fleet supplier that would genuinely impact on
our business in terms of efficiency.

“Lloyds TSB autolease provided us with the best possible options
and gave us the flexibility to think about wider initiatives around
the environment and duty of care which we could implement in the
future.”

1,700-vehicle fleet contract award

LTSBa has clinched a four-year lease contract as the sole
supplier of 1,700 brand new Vauxhall vehicles to Newsquest, one of
the UK’s largest regional newspaper publishers.

LTSBa developed a flexible finance lease tailored specifically
for Newsquest. Matthew McTague, head of group procurement at
Newsquest, said: “Over the years we have enjoyed a fantastic
relationship with Lloyds TSB bank, and we’re looking equally
forward to forging a strong partnership with Lloyds TSB
autolease.”

Jeremy Heron, head of the corporate new business and bid
management team at Lloyds TSB autolease, commented: “We are
delighted to be working with such a large and established
organisation as Newsquest and have already enjoyed the challenge of
creating a truly unique and tailored offer for them.”
