Vertu Motors last month acquired two
dual-franchised Ford and Mazda dealerships in Scotland, with
combined annual turnovers of £27.1m.
Both dealerships will be rebranded
Macklin Motors, Vertu’s brand established this year for dealership
acquisitions in Scotland.

No goodwill is payable in the
acquisition which brings the total number of Ford dealerships
operated by the Group to 19 and total number of Mazda dealerships
to four.
The dealership group, the ninth
largest motor retailer in the United Kingdom, now operates 64 sales
outlets in total, including six in Scotland.
Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu Motors,
said: “Ford and Mazda and both dealerships are in prime retail
locations representing an excellent geographic fit with the Group’s
existing Scottish dealerships.”
