Cap hpi has appointed a Black Book editor after the departure of senior editor James Dower, who is moving into a remarketing role elsewhere.

Jeremy Yea, of ALD Automotive, has taken up the role, after Dower first announced his departure in February.

Yea had been with ALD since 2003. He was most recently senior vehicle remarketing executive, overseeing disposal of cars through physical and online retail, as well as sitting on ALD’s residual values committee.

He previously held roles within sales in the Lookers group and now-defunct car supermarket Carcraft.

Dower, meanwhile, has moved on to become head of business development at ADESA UK.

Yea said: “I join the industry leader at an exciting time in its development. I look forward to working with everyone at cap hpi to support its diverse range of customers.”

Derren Martin, head of current valuations, has taken up Dower’s previous responsibilities. He said: “Jeremy brings a wealth of experience to the team. We are ramping up our expertise and analysis capability to provide enhanced editorial insight and remarketing consultancy.

“Our focus remains on combining industry-leading data and expert insight to help our customers make smarter automotive decisions.”

Yea’s appointment comes off the back of a February expansion within cap hpi, with Derren Martin taking on the role of head of current valuations.
